Welcome to the Brain Trust!
By: erw9z3

Hey, look, another Bears blog!!!
I know, I know, there are a lot of Bears sites out there, but
Bears Brain Trust is going to go beyond that. I guarantee it.
And who is the guy guaranteeing things? Well, I'm a freelance writer who started and runs
Outside the Clubhouse, an independent Chicago sports blog, and contributes to
i94 Sports. Wanting to become involved with the
Sports Page Network and some of their great blogs, I started
Bears Brain Trust. Hopefully, I can contribute another good blog to the network, as well as provide information for Bears fans looking for more.
Here's a little more about the site's endearing leader: I'm not in the locker room, interviewing people or practicing
real journalism;
I do have a background in journalism, though. And as a journalism student
not so long ago, I treat everything I write for this site (as well as
my others) with the same consideration as anything I would have printed
in a newspaper, or site whose logo doesn't involve a smirking Jerry
Angelo. This isn't to say everything on this site will be serious in nature (it won't) or that there won't be opinions or that this site is
without its biases (I have both of them); you just won't find any
rumor mongering or thoughtless ranting here.
What I will try to do on this site is ask questions. Football isn't the
simplest game: there are a lot of simultaneous actions that make or
break each play. The way Lovie Smith and the Bears organization goes about not telling
anyone about anything regarding the team and the way games are shown on TV, it's tough to follow every intricacy of the game. I
know that I would like to have a better understanding of the strategy
of the game, and if you're like me in this regard, be sure to come back
often.
My intentions are to update the site daily. But until then, feel free to contact me. I should have an email address and Twitter account for this site soon. Until then, email me at
erickward@outsidetheclubhouse.com or follow me
